SHELL ISLAND

Today we went our on a wonderful adventure! We actually rented a pontoon boat and drove in in the huge ocean to Shell Island. I was kind of nervous at first taking a boat of any kind out on the ocean, but it turned out great. We loaded up and was given instructions on how to navigate to the island. It's a little harder than you think, you have to be aware of natural landmarks. Here is a picture of my husband at the helm; he can pretty much drive anything.

Here is a beautiful sailboat anchored at the island. We pushed our pontoon up on the beach, much easier to get off the boat. I'm glad we did that after finding many large beached jelly fish and huge crabs on the bottom.
Here is a bunch of the protected sea grass found all over the island. The sand was sugar white and there were lots of shells everywhere.
The kids loved it here! It's just like being on a deserted island. There are no modern conveinences here, its all natural. The beaches were deserted, just us and lots of shells. The sand was nice and wet to build sand castles.
Beautiful Shell Island!!!!
